Toddler Craft: Paper Roll Snake

It’s still a little chilly here in the Midwest, so that means lots of time for crafts. This project was a big hit in our house – turning a toilet paper roll into a snake! We recently learned first-hand what a snake looks like when we stumbled upon one during a walk through our meadow. It had just eaten a big mouse (we guess!) since it had a lump in its middle. hehe

Materials:

  • empty toilet paper rolls
  • wiggly eyes
  • washable paint and brushes
  • 1 sheet of construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue stick

Instructions:

It’s super simple! Paint the inside and outside of your roll any which way you want! Let it dry completely and then use a pair of scissors to cut the roll in a spiral/corkscrew pattern. Cut out a construction paper tongue. Next, stick on wiggly eyes and then use a dab of glue stick to affix the tongue. Voila!
